Introduction to Maritime Intelligence
A short overview of what Maritime Intelligence does and where to find each feature.
1 min overview of Maritime IntelligenceMaritime Intelligence is MagicPort’s vessel intelligence app. It brings together live vessel positions, vessel and company profiles, port call schedules and sanctions data, so you can find the vessels that matter to you and be told when something changes.
The app has four main areas, all in the top navigation: Vessel Intelligence, Fleets, Alerts and Custom Areas.

Find vessels
Vessel Intelligence has five tabs:
- Scheduled Arrivals lists the vessels due at one or more ports in the coming days. See Find vessels arriving at a port.
- Nearby Vessels shows what is within a set distance of a port right now. See Find vessels near a port.
- Vessel Search finds a vessel by name, IMO or MMSI, or by its port call history. See Search for a vessel by name, IMO or MMSI.
- Owners / Managers finds ship owners and managers and shows their fleets. See Look up a ship owner or manager.
- Sanctions Search checks vessels, companies and people against sanctions lists. See Check a vessel or company for sanctions.
Every result list can be narrowed with the same set of filters. See Narrow results with advanced filters.
Track the vessels you care about
- Fleets are lists of vessels you build yourself, import from Excel, or follow from a ship manager. See Create a fleet and add vessels.
- Alerts email you a digest when vessels are due to arrive, have arrived, change their ETA or destination, cross an area, or change their sanctions status. See Create an alert.
Watch an area of sea
Custom Areas let you draw the waters you care about, or start from a ready-made area such as the Strait of Hormuz, and see every vessel inside. See Draw a custom area.
Stay compliant
Sanctions information appears throughout the app: in Sanctions Search, on every vessel profile, and as risk tags in result lists. See Vessel risk statuses.
Work as a team
On Enterprise plans, fleets can be shared with colleagues and aggregated across the company. See Share fleets with your team.
