Alert on ETA changes

Get an email digest when a vessel's ETA moves by more than a number of hours you choose.

An ETA (estimated time of arrival) Change alert in Maritime Intelligence emails you when a vessel’s reported ETA moves by more than the number of hours you set. It works best on a fleet or a short list of vessels, where a slipping arrival time affects berth, supplier, and agency planning.

Note: An alert can have only one event trigger, so ETA changes and destination changes need two separate alerts. See Alert on destination changes.

  1. Open Alerts and click Create an Alert

Click Alerts in the top navigation, then Create an Alert.

  2. Add the ETA Change rule

Click Add Rule and choose ETA Change.

  3. Enter the threshold in hours

In Threshold (hrs), type the smallest change you want to hear about, for example 12. Smaller changes are ignored.

The field is required. The “12” you see before typing is only an example, so type the number yourself.

  4. Add vessel filters if you need them

Click Add Rule again to add a vessel filter, such as Vessel Types. Click Next.

  5. Choose the vessels and the schedule

Under Scope, choose Existing Fleet(s) and click the fleets to watch, or Single or Multiple Vessels to pick vessels by name or IMO. Turn on Email Digest and choose the frequency and time. Click Next.

See Create an alert for every scope and schedule option.

  6. Name it and click Create Alert

Enter an Alert Name, for example “MARINE ROSE – ETA changes over 12 hours”, check the summary and click Create Alert.

Tip: If you try to add a second event such as Destination Change to the same alert, you see “Event trigger already selected”. Remove the first event with its ×, or create a second alert.
