Key findings

  • China recorded 24,455 port calls in August 2026, an increase of 7.8% from 22,696 calls in July 2026.
  • Bulk Carrier remained the largest vessel type category at 6,505 calls, a 26.6% share, up 7.6% from July, while Other (incl. offshore) posted the largest real vessel-type increase, rising 29.1% to 2,617 calls, and Container declined 6.8% to 5,378 calls.
  • Shanghai led all ports with 2,227 calls, a 9.1% share, followed by Tianjin with 1,329 calls and Zhoushan with 1,218 calls, together accounting for 19.5% of national port calls.
