Run your integration in the sandbox against real sample vessels until the responses match what your CRM, ERP or operational platform expects.
Go live
Move to production credentials with the exact same request and response shapes - nothing to rebuild.
Frequently asked
The questions technical and commercial teams ask before they scope a trial.
A set of REST APIs that put MagicPort's vessel, port and shipping company data directly into the systems your team already works in. Ten APIs cover vessel identity, movement, port calls and compliance, each documented, versioned and available in a sandbox before you touch production.
Nine are live: Vessels, Management Contacts, Voyage History, Scheduled Arrivals, Port Call History, Geofence, PSC, Certificates and Surveys. The Compliance API, covering vessel and company sanctions screening with risk indicators, is releasing soon.
It depends on the job. Fixing a vessel and checking the counterparty usually means Vessels, Voyage History, Management Contacts and PSC. Filling a pipeline with vessels heading to your ports means Scheduled Arrivals, Port Call History and Management Contacts. Planning berths and labour means Scheduled Arrivals, Geofence and Port Call History. Tell us the use case and we'll scope the trial to the right set.
AIS tracking for movement, official registries for vessel and company records, and port state control and certification authorities for the regulatory record.
Global, across commercial vessel types and ports worldwide, for both live movement and historical activity.
Voyage History and Port Call History are queryable in windows, from recent activity through to a full year and beyond.
Dedicated sanctions and risk screening arrives with the Compliance API. Today the PSC, Certificates and Surveys APIs give you the regulatory record: inspections, detentions, deficiencies, certificate and survey status, which is the factual backbone of most due diligence checks.
Yes. You request a scoped trial, build against sample data, and go live once your integration works.
The trial gives you keys and documentation immediately, so you can make a first successful call the same day. How long the full integration takes depends on your side, but you're building against a sandbox, not production, until you're ready.
Yes, that's what it's for. It's a standard REST/JSON API, independent of how you use the MagicPort web platform, so it fits whatever CRM, ERP, TMS or in-house system your team already runs.
Usage-based and credit-metered. Each call deducts a set number of credits depending on the endpoint and how much data you're asking for, drawn from a monthly allocation sized to your expected volume.
No. Credits reset each billing cycle.
Yes, within the scope of your agreement, which defines what you may build with the data, show to your own users and pass on to them. What isn't allowed is reselling the raw data itself or sharing your API credentials. If our data will sit inside something you charge for, describe the use case and we'll confirm your terms cover it.
The Management Contacts API is intended for genuine business communication connected to vessel activity. Whether a particular outreach campaign is permitted depends on your agreement with us and on the privacy and marketing laws in force for you and for the person being contacted, so check your intended use against both before you launch it.
