Vietnam recorded 3,304 port calls in July 2026, an increase of 9.6 percent from 3,014 calls in June 2026. Port activity remained concentrated in the south and north of the country, with Cai Mep, Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh together accounting for 61.9 percent of national port call activity.

Key findings

  • Vietnam recorded 3,304 port calls in July 2026, up 9.6 percent from 3,014 calls in June 2026.
  • Container traffic remained the largest vessel type by volume at 1,238 calls (37.5 percent share) despite a 1.9 percent decline, while the other/offshore category rose 34.2 percent to 267 calls and bulk carrier calls rose 31.8 percent to 423 calls, the two largest movements this month.
  • Cai Mep led all ports with 702 calls (21.2 percent share), followed by Hai Phong with 688 calls (20.8 percent) and Ho Chi Minh with 658 calls (19.9 percent), together accounting for 61.9 percent of national port call activity.
