  • Sri Lanka recorded 681 port calls in August 2026, up 0.4% from 678 calls in July 2026, essentially flat month over month.
  • Tanker (all types) posted the largest gain among major categories, rising 30.4% to 146 calls (21.4% share), while Ro-Ro / Vehicle fell 30.2% to 30 calls (4.4% share) and Container remained the dominant category at 321 calls (47.1% share).
  • Colombo led all ports by a wide margin with 412 calls (60.5% share), followed by Galle with 120 calls (17.6% share) and Hambantota with 78 calls (11.5% share), together accounting for 89.6% of national port calls.
