Key findings

  • Tanker (all types) calls fell 34.8% to 227 and LNG Carrier calls fell 17.7% to 93, while Bulk Carrier remained the largest segment with 1,039 calls (35.1%).
  • Port activity is led by Port Hedland with 298 calls (10.1%), Melbourne with 254 calls (8.6%), and Brisbane with 203 calls (6.9%), which together account for 25.5% of national calls.
  • Australia is the leading origin with 1,516 calls (51.2%) and the leading destination with 1,516 calls (50.4%), with China second in both directions.
