Initiated in November 1978, Shitanoe Shipbuilding's journey began in the industrious shipbuilding hub of Usuki City, located in Oita Prefecture. Positioned in the ideally serene Shitanoe Bay, the location offers perfect conditions for shipbuilding, with its gentle waters, ample mooring area in both surface and depth, and protection offered by the surrounding mountains on three sides. This unique geography has long established the bay as a sheltered haven for ships, serving as a wind-sheltered port for countless years.
Growth and Global ExpansionUpholding the legacy and vision handed down through generations, the past four decades have witnessed our evolution into a globally recognized shipbuilding entity. We pride ourselves on constructing vessels that not only serve the domestic market but have a presence worldwide. Notable achievements include the construction of the world's largest molten sulfur carrier and the pioneering of the world's first concentrated nitric acid carrier. Amid the global shift towards digital innovation and environmental sustainability, our commitment remains steadfast in embracing change and advancing our capabilities to meet the dynamic demands of the times.
Community and Environmental CommitmentFrom our inception, the support of our local community has been a cornerstone of our operations. We deeply value the favorable climate and the partnership we have cultivated with the people of our region. As we navigate the complexities of our industry, it is our earnest pledge to uphold our social responsibilities, striving for mutual growth and prosperity with our community. We are committed to, and look forward with anticipation to, the continued support and partnership of our patrons in our endeavors.
