Ever conscious of the need to understand and meet our clients’ requirements, MH Bland continues to develop its ‘One Network – One Solution’ concept and has expanded its Port Agency presence at all ports in the Strait of Gibraltar, mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, Morocco, and Malta. While the Global HUB office, expands our already comprehensive network to ports beyond where we have a physical presence working with trusted agents worldwide.
The advantage of having a physical presence throughout the region is that it allows principals to transfer the delivery of services from one port to another at short notice. Marine Services
MH Bland Marine Services is both the principal stevedoring company as well as the leading provider and operator of harbourcraft, tugs and barges in this busy port of Gibraltar.
As the port leading marine services provider, we can receive, store and deliver supplies, spare parts and lubricants to vessels in the Bay and Strait of Gibraltar.
The company operates 2 dedicated lubricant supply barges in Gibraltar with a combined capacity of 980,000 litres, together with a fleet of support craft and barges.
MH Bland Marine Services operates its own marine lubricant bulk storage facility with a capacity of 600,000 litres. This permanent strategic stock of lubricants ensure that we can deliver on behalf of our principles 24/7. The facility is rated to the highest HSSE codes and regulations.
- Stevedores: The company has equipment ranging from a 250 ton Gottwald mobile harbour crane with a 36-ton lifting capacity and a variety of heavy and lighter forklift trucks, to smaller cranes suitable for bulk cargoes.
- Marine Grade Lubricant Deliveries: The company operates two lubricant supply vessels. MHB Oilfish was re-commissioned in 2011. She is double-hulled with a total capacity of 480,000 ltrs, fitted with updated electronics and new engine room facilities. Dragonfish has a total capacity of 500,000 ltrs. Both vessels operate to the highest HSSE standards.
All our vessels are surveyed and certified annually by Gibraltar Maritime Authority’s surveyors. We deliver lubricants on behalf of Shell and B.P. amongst others, to the high HSSE standards. - Provisions: Gibraltar’s strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean and its special status within the EU make it the ideal point from which to conduct re-provisioning exempt from VAT.
