Panama recorded 2,217 port calls in August 2026, an increase of 43.5% from 1,545 calls in July 2026. Port activity remained heavily concentrated around the Panama Canal system, with Panama Canal, Miraflores, and Cristobal together accounting for 79.4% of national port calls.

  • Tanker calls climbed 63.3% to 583, while Ro-Ro and vehicle calls rose 57.1% to 143 and other vessel calls, including offshore, increased 52.7% to 139.
  • Panama Canal, Miraflores, and Cristobal together handled 79.4% of national port calls, led by Panama Canal itself with 867 calls.
