Hong Kong recorded 1,891 port calls in October 2026, up 4.4% from 1,812 in September 2026. Mainland China was the leading origin and destination country/region, accounting for 940 origin calls (49.7%) and 632 destination calls (39.7%).

Key findings

  • Offshore and other vessels rose 33.3% to 80 calls and general cargo vessels rose 14.7% to 219 calls, while LNG carriers fell 50.0% to 11 calls.
  • All 1,891 calls were made at the Port of Hong Kong, where container ships were the dominant segment with 856 calls (45.3% share).
  • Vietnam ranked second behind Mainland China on both sides, with 181 origin calls (9.6%) and 167 destination calls (10.5%), while Hong Kong itself ranked third.
