Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (referred to as "JLS") stands as a prominent, modern shipyard focusing on the construction and repair of ships. It operates under the umbrella of the Qingdao Military-Civil Integration Development Group Co., Ltd., commonly known as "Rongfa Group," with a strategic partnership with Shandong Huiyang Group. The facility spans a vast 1.8 million square meters, boasting the capability to produce ships with a total deadweight of one million annually.

The Rongfa Group, a state-backed corporation, was founded to synergize military and civil advancements within the Qingdao West Coast New Area. The Shandong Huiyang Group dedicates its resources towards the enhancement of marine industries, owning several subsidiaries including Jinglu Fishery and Jinglu Ship Industry, to name a few. Its operations span the full marine industry spectrum from offshore fishing, aquatic product processing, marine culture, to shipbuilding and maintenance. It is heralded as a pioneer within Shandong Province's marine economic sector.

Strategic Location of JLS

Strategically positioned in the Penglai District of Yantai City, JLS finds its place near the Changshan Islands, adjacent to the vital Changshan Waterway. It looks across to Lushun, benefiting from a 14-meter deep waterway, ensuring ease of access and operations unaffected by extreme weather conditions such as typhoons, intense heat, or freezing periods. This geography is particularly conducive for the shipyard's repairing and construction projects.

Accreditations and Memberships

JLS proudly holds a vice presidency within the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, acts as a National Centre for National Economic Mobilization, and is amongst the premier shipbuilders complying with the Industrial Code Requirements set by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (Class I). Additionally, it is recognized as China's sole "Model Base for Construction and Technology of Ocean Fishing Vessels" by the Ministry of Agriculture Fishery Vessel Inspection Bureau, with qualifications extending to the construction and maintenance of military vessels.

The shipyard is equipped with two sizable dry and floating docks, capable of accommodating ships of up to 300,000 tons, alongside approximately 3,000 meters of outfitting quay lined with sophisticated shipbuilding apparatus like gantry cranes rated for 1000 t and 500 t. JLS’s workforce surpasses 4,500 employees, each skilled in various segments of shipbuilding, ensuring excellence through the integration of top-tier design and precision control software.

JLS's ship production is diverse, covering both domestic and international markets with cargo ships of varying deadweights, chemical tankers, cement carriers, container vessels, and luxurious deep-sea fishing ships. Its repertoire extends to governmental vessels including coast guard and fishery administration ships, supplemented by specialized vessels like RO-RO passenger ships and scientific research ships.

Operational Experience

With foundational shareholders, JLS actively participates in global transportation, operating bulk carriers for the international shipping of grain, coal, and ore, among others. It also manages a fleet of deep-sea fishing vessels that traverse the waters of the North Pacific, South America, Argentina, and Peru all year round.
