About

Introduction to Ningbo Daxie Development Zone

The Ningbo Daxie Development Zone (宁波大榭开发区) is strategically positioned at the intersection shaped like a 'T' where the illustrious Yangtze River flows into the sea along China's prosperous eastern coastline. This pivotal location lies to the east of Ningbo, roughly 40 kilometers away from the bustling city center.

Geographic and Economic Advantages

Adjacent to an important global maritime pathway, the development zone enjoys protection from the natural barrier formed by the Zhoushan Archipelago. It features an extensive strip of deep-water shoreline that stretches for 10.7 kilometers, where the sea depth plunges between 20 to 30 meters close to 150 meters offshore, making it highly suitable for large-scale warehousing, distribution, and various industrial endeavors.

Transportation and Accessibility

The development zone is seamlessly integrated into the nationwide transportation network, connected by the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway and the Xiaoshan-Ningbo Double Track railway. Approximately 50 kilometers from the Ningbo Lishe Airport, it is conveniently accessible, with Shanghai a mere two-hour drive away via the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge.

Establishment and Management

On March 5, 1993, the development of Daxie Island was commissioned to the China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) Group by the State Council, leveraging the privileges afforded to national-level economic and technological zones. Concurrently, the CITIC Daxie Development Company was inaugurated alongside the Daxie Development Zone Administrative Committee, which administers the zone acting on behalf of the Ningbo municipal government.

About CITIC Group

With its origins dating back to October 1979, CITIC Group has evolved into a colossal multinational conglomerate. As a state-owned enterprise, it spans multiple sectors, offering a vast array of services including finance, information technology, investment, consulting, real estate, tourism, and trade.

Economic Vision and Environment

Envisioned as a harbor-centric and export-driven economic zone, NDDZ aims to cultivate a robust tertiary industry, maintain high-functional efficacy, and foster an aesthetically pleasing environment for business and leisure alike.
