Nantong Gang Zha Shipyard

In May 1992, under the approval of the Nantong City's Planned Economy Commission through document number 92(67), Nantong Gangzha Shipping Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (NGS) was established in the Gangzha district. The facility is strategically situated in the Gangzha development zone, precisely 800 meters north of the Tongsha Freighter, at No.11 Yangtze River Road. NGS specializes in constructing, repairing ships, and building large-scale steel structures. It has earned a reputation for creating specific maritime engineering vessels, particularly dredging engineering ships, boasting a wide range of specifications and establishing itself as a significant player in the domestic market for such vessels, ranking third industry-wide.

For over twenty years, NGS has mastered the craft of building and repairing vessels, showcasing its capability to construct cargo ships up to 10,000 tons, container ships, tugboats, barges, and comprehensive hydraulic engineering ships. The quality of these ships has been recognized by esteemed international classification societies such as NK, ABS, BV, LR, DNV, KR, and CCS. NGS has also made its mark globally, with its products reaching Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Korea, among other countries. The shipyard spans 200,000m³ and includes both old and new factories that extend along 600 meters of the Yangzi River coastline, equipped with a 135-meter outfitting quay and slipways of varying capacities, alongside dedicated workshops for various manufacturing processes.

Adhering to a philosophy centered around market development through quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement, NGS achieved ISO9001 quality management system certification in 2008. The company has set new industry benchmarks by focusing on technological innovation, particularly in the area of dredging engineering vessels, positioning itself as a forerunner in the realm of maritime engineering. With a vision to supply equipment and services for significant domestic and international port projects, NGS is expanding its shipbuilding operations to bolster the port economy and secure its presence in the sector. NGS's success is also attributed to its highly skilled workforce, consisting of 80 technical personnel and 226 certified welders, complemented by over 600 skilled workers specializing in various disciplines crucial to shipbuilding and repairs. This team's expertise has propelled NGS into the ranks of Nantong's top 100 private enterprises, with its tax contributions positioning it among the ten exemplary private enterprises in the region. As a nucleus for the research, development, and production of large-scale dredging vessels, NGS is evolving into the premier choice for manufacturing global dredging engineering vessels.
