Foundation and History

The establishment date of the Severnaya Shipyard, initially known as “Putilovskaya”, traces back to November 14, 1912. This shipyard stands as a premier entity within the Russian defense sector. Over the span of its hundred-year history, it has achieved the monumental milestone of constructing approximately 600 vessels. These vessels range broadly in type and function, encompassing missile cruisers, anti-aircraft ships, significant anti-submarine ships, and torpedo boat destroyers for the Russian Navy. Moreover, the shipyard has produced passenger and dry-cargo ships, container vessels, roll-on/roll-off ships, dry bulk carriers, tugs, supply boats, ferries, and even floating docks for civilian utilization.

Current Projects

At present, the shipyard boasts an extensive portfolio of work, including the batch production of vessels like Corvettes and Frigates, along with a variety of ships designed for myriad purposes.

Operational Focus Areas

The Severnaya Shipyard is actively engaged in several core operational domains. These include the batch manufacturing of military vessels encompassing Corvettes, Frigates, Destroyers, specialized-purpose ships, and supply vessels dedicated to the Russian Navy. Additionally, the facility undertakes the repair and modernization of military craft serving the Russian fleet. Beyond servicing domestic military needs, the shipyard extends its expertise to the construction, upkeep, and enhancement of military ships destined for international navies. Lastly, it is involved in the commercial shipbuilding sector, catering to both national and international markets and includes the production of fishing vessels, trawlers, and long-liners among its commercial ventures.
